Quinton De Kock retains his position to accompany skipper at top of the order. It is less likely for Chris Lynn to replace De Kock. Opening with De Kock makes a Left-Right combination. Also he being an aggressive batsman would help Rohit to get his time at starting. Mumbai would like him to replicate his 2019 performance.

The Highest wicket-taker in IPL history, Lasith Malinga reminds us of the phrase " Old is gold". Though the age factor comes into play but Mumbai would never mind that and select him in the playing XI. Rohit's trust on his ability makes him perform better. This is a no-brainer. Jasprit Bumrah is the best death bowler in the league by some margin. The Mumbai Indians pacer has been very consistent at the death and has been a very reliable option for skipper, Rohit Sharma. Bumrah will certainly be the main death bowler for them.
